Beyonce Reveals Title and Details About Her Forthcoming Double Album 'I Am... Sasha Fierce' Available Everywhere Tuesday, November 18

Wednesday October 22, 6:33 pm ET

NEW YORK, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Music World Music/Columbia Records is releasing I Am... Sasha Fierce, the new full-length double album from the international superstar and cultural icon Beyonce on Tuesday, November 18.

"The new record is a double album and has two covers, like a magazine would have two covers," Beyonce revealed. "One of the covers is named I Am... and the second cover is named Sasha Fierce. That is my alter ego and now she has a last name. I have someone else that takes over when it's time for me to work and when I'm on stage, this alter ego that I've created that kind of protects me and who I really am. That's why half the record, I Am..., is about who I am underneath all the makeup, underneath the lights, and underneath all the exciting star drama. And Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I'm working and when I'm on the stage. The double album allows me to take more risks and really step out of myself, or shall I say, step more into myself, and reveal a side of me that people only know me see."

One of 2008's most hotly anticipated new album releases, Beyonce's new album is the artist's first new studio collection since the Grammy-winning multi-platinum-selling B'Day debuted at #1 on charts around the world shortly after its international release on September 4, 2006 (in celebration of Beyonce's 25th birthday).

Beyonce's fans got their first taste of the two sides of I Am... Sasha Fierce with the simultaneous release in early October of "If I Were A Boy" (from I Am...) and "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" (from Sasha Fierce).

Songs on Beyonce's I Am... include "If I Were A Boy," "Halo," "Disappear," "Broken Hearted Girl," "Ave Maria," and "Satellites." Beyonce's Sasha Fierce performances include "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," "Radio," "Diva," "Sweet Dreams," and "Video Phone."

I Am... Sasha Fierce is Executive Produced by Beyonce Knowles and Mathew Knowles for Music World Productions, Inc.

BEYONCÉ PREMIERES TWO VIDEOS ACROSS MTV NETWORKS

BEYONCÉ IS BURNING UP THE AIR WAVES WITH TWO VIDEO PREMIERES EXCLUSIVELY ACROSS MTV NETWORKS

New York, NY, October 13, 2008 – This week, Beyoncé Knowles will stage a takeover of MTV Networks with the multiplatform release of the highly anticipated videos “Single Ladies” and “If I Were A Boy” from her forthcoming album. MTVN is pulling out all the stops for one of the most recognizable artists of our time by highlighting the video across our networks.

Premiere information for “Single Ladies” and “If I Were A Boy” includes:

“Single Ladies” will make its MTV debut on Monday night as the credits roll on the 9:30 ET/PT episode of “The Hills,” just before tonight’s new episode (10:00pm ET/PT) makes its debut. The episode is appropriately themed, as it involves an old flame that regrets ending a relationship.

MTV Jams has determined that “Single Ladies” and “If I Were A Boy” will be given the honor of being named the “Jam Of The Week” this week, meaning viewers will have a chance to catch the videos every hour this week.

If MTV and MTV Jams wasn’t enough, MTV HITS, MTV TR3S, MTV2 and LOGO will spin the “Single Ladies” and “If I Were A Boy” videos throughout the week.

MTV Hits will go through the “hits,” as decided by Beyoncé. Beginning at 3:00pm ET/PT today, MTV Hits will show Beyoncé’s Artist Collection, which includes videos that reign supreme for her. The countdown special shares videos that inspire and entertain the superstar.

The web will also be ablaze with Beyoncé when she dominates the Rhapsody, MTV.com and MTV2.com home pages. These sites will be the headquarters for the “Single Ladies” video before and after the premiere, with additional coverage on MTV’s Buzzworthy blog and elsewhere on MTV.com.

Just a year after her last appearance, Beyoncé will drop by the MTV studio on Tuesday, October 14th to premiere the two videos for the last time on Total Request Live. During the show, Beyoncé will discuss her latest project and give fans a look at what they can expect from her in the near future.

Beyonce Turns The Tables In 'Boy' Video

Beyonce will release videos for her two new singles "If I Were a Boy" and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" via MTV, BET, VH1 and Fuse on Monday (Oct. 13). The two songs were released to radio this week and are the first from her forthcoming, as-yet-untitled album, due Nov. 18 via Music World/Columbia.

"It's kind of like 'Freaky Friday'," Beyonce tells Billboard of the concept behind the "If I Were a Boy" clip, where she plays a police officer. "In the beginning of the video, my husband makes me breakfast and he's excited about it, and I kind of don't have time to eat. As a police officer, I have a male partner and the video goes through our days. My husband's at work and has attractive girls flirting with him but he declines their advances. I have a guy flirting with me, and I flirt back."

Beyonce says the clip will depict common things that men do to hurt their significant others, like not answering their phone.

"It's about all of the little things that mean so much in a relationship," says Beyonce. "At the end of the clip, you realize that I was acting out his life, and it all starts over again. He was a cop and everything that happened was really him doing the same thing to me."

Both videos were directed by Jake Nava, who previously helmed Beyonce's "Baby Boy" featuring Sean Paul.
