Beyonce and UPTOWN Magazine's Best of 2008

NEW YORK, Nov 25, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Winter 2008/2009 issue of UPTOWN Magazine (on newsstands December 8th) takes an in-depth look into African Americans at the top of their game in the entertainment, fashion, sports and political arenas, as judged by a panel of experts.

"Barack Obama's election has brought African Americans front and center in American life," said Len Burnett, Co-Founder and Group Publisher. "UPTOWN's Winter Issue honors the Obamas, NY Governor David Patterson, Kobe Bryant, Tyra Banks and cover girl Beyonce Knowles as shining examples of African American success."

UPTOWN Magazine is the only luxury lifestyle company targeting the growing Affluent African American (AAA) market. UPTOWN is currently published quarterly nationally with regional issues in NYC, Atlanta, Washington DC and Chicago. In 2009, UPTOWN will expand to include a Charlotte edition and increase to six issues per year. Uptown's circulation will grow to 200,000 and a readership of 800,000.

The Winter 2008/2009 issue also marks UPTOWN's second largest advertising revenue issue to date. As many print titles have struggled to retain ad sales, UPTOWN has grown exponentially. UPTOWN's combination of integrated marketing programs as well as a unique product offering has proven to be a great vehicle for luxury brands such as Maserati, Tiffany, Aston Martin, Veuve Clicquot, Lexus and many others.

Other features include "Life in the Spotlight," an interview with cover girl and newlywed Beyonce Knowles, a holiday gift guide for the Fashionista, Style Guy and New Homeowners in your life, tips on upgrading your holiday bash and an interview with George Tillman, Director of the upcoming Biggie Smalls biopic.
